Marie Losier- 'Manuelle Labor' 2009

A film by Marie Losier. Two sisters, five brothers, a doctor and two nurses and the miraculous birth of a pair of hands..but whose hands? a film inspired by Guy Maddin



Marie Losier, born in France, is a filmmaker and curator working in New York City. She has shown her films and videos at museums, galleries, biennials and festivals. In 2000, she became the film programmer at the French Institute / Alliance Francaise in New York City, where she presents a weekly film series. She also programed experimental films at the Robert Beck Memorial Cinema and Ocularis in Brooklyn and brings programs in Europe and all over in the States. She just finished a film portrait on Tony Conrad that was shown at the Tate Modern, Berlin Film Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival...and many other festivals.
