Berlin Biennial (Part 2)

Day 1

KW Gallery

Around Berlin

We went to this retrospective of a German artist, Erwin Heerich, who worked with cardboard amongst other things to create Bauhaus-like sculptures and Escher-like structures and drawings. Most of his work seemed to date from the 60s; Dave loved his work especially, hence the large amount of photos of the exhibition.

Next we stumbled upon this gallery which was occupied by the artist Roman Ondak. The exhibition was called Measuring the Universe, and will be open until the 30th of April. It's an interactive piece, where visitors are invited to literally leave their mark on the gallery's wall by having their height measured by one of the gallery attendants. You got to choose where you wanted to leave your name, and funnily enough, when i chose my spot spontaneously, I seemed to have chosen the one place where all the other Susans and Susannes and the like chose to be marked. Quite a coincidence.
